2 years ago, I got a call from a guy I had never heard of asking me if I was available to work on his show that was about to start filming in town. I was skeptical and looked him up. I couldn’t believe the magic I saw him doing! It was amazing, brilliant, hilarious and did I say amazing? It was all those things. And here he was asking for my help? Ha! I thought I was being punked! Needless to say I immediately called him back and said “Yes!”. Then immediately started doing a happy dance around my living room.
That first order of 13 episodes was the most intense fun I have ever had on any show I had worked on before or since. 52 episodes later and I am still having just as much fun.
There are 5 of us that work as a well oiled machine. We each have our strengths that we bring to the table. Being an art major in college, its my job to create a lot of the magical props that are used in the show. From making look a like art pieces, custom fish suits, quick change clothing, or signed head shots of Abraham Lincoln, I delivered each with accuracy and precision and often in 24hrs or less.
Not content to just make props, I also contribute ideas and secret methods. My personal favorite was creating a method for opening a door placed onto a solid floor that a ghost then walked out of. The amazing part was that the door opened upward and closed again without the use of wires or strings that would have been seen by the live cameras and the person that we tricked . It was a marvel of ingenuity.
The photos here represent some of the props I have created. I have many more to share, but confidentiality agreements and magic secrecy prohibit me from doing that. But if you want to learn more about my duties on the show, and how I can help your production, please contact me.
